    Inserting Pictures to create Labels

    Hell All,

I have close to 2500 individual part names that I need to print labels for. The labels will need to contain the part number and an image of the part. I have a single folder with all the images (jpeg) saved as their respective part number. What I need is a quick and easy way to:

    1) create labels for all the existing parts that will automatically pull the part number and the correct image into a label. I'm really not sure how to assign the image to the correct part number without doing it individually. This is the most important part of the project.

    2) A way to create labels for new parts as the list continues to expand. This is less critical and I can probably figure out if someone can help me with 1.

Is this something a Macro can do? If so can anyone help me write it or point me in the right direction? Thanks so much!!

    Hello AaronBurr,

    Welcome to the forum!

Labels can be of several types: worksheet cells, OLE Objects, Enhanced Metafiles, Bitmaps, or physical labels, like Avery Labels, that can be printed on sheet an stuck on something.

If you have physical labels, who makes them, what size are they, and what software are you using to print them?

If the labels are not physical then you will need to post a copy of your workbook with before and after examples of how the labels should appear and where they will be placed.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

Thank you for replying. Currently we upload an excel file and use p-touch software for our labels. All of our labels are 4"x2" and we're currently printing them out ourselves.

In terms of layout, I am hoping to make it:

    Large Part Number
    Small Part Description
Image (~ a third the of the label size)
    Bar code (generated by P-touch)
    small part number

    Hello Aaron Burr,

As Brother produces many P-Touch models, which one are you using?

    Does it include editing software?
If it does then which version do you have?

Re: Inserting Pictures to create Labels

We are using the QL-710W. It does have some editing software, I'm not sure which version we have. But it works off of excel databases. Each row can be a different part number and each coloum contains all the text needed (part number, descriptions). I was thinking if I could find a macro to put the images into the excel file, all my data will be in one Database that p-touch can easily read? Does that make sense?

    Hello Aaron Burr,

After looking at the manuals, you can use the editor to add the images to your labels from saved files. However, it is not clear whether you can control this process using VBA.
