    "Defined Names" into "Data Validation" problem

    Hi guys,


    when I plug a "Defined Names" into a "Data Validation" list, the Data Validation's "Error Alert stops"

    I want to be able to use "Defined Names" in "Data Validation" and have error alerts appear to the user, if the cell isn't an entry found within the Defined Names.

    Any ideas?

    That is a pretty general description--too general to actually be answered.

    I assume you are talking about using the List option. Can you give the specifics of what defined name you are using? What formula does it name?

    Hi Jimmy,

    I think you need to put an equal sign in front of the DefineNames list in the Validation dialog. I also think you can't have a space in the name. See my example.
    Validation List needs Equal Sign.xlsx
