english date format changes to us format on copying

hi guys I have a userforn were users input the date into a textbox, including the back slashes, when they press enter and the data is transferred to another sheet, in the date column the date has changed to us format, i.e entered is 01/04/2020 but shows when copied over as 04/01/2020, I have formatted the column where the date is copied to as English but it still shows as us format, I have also checked in settings and everything is set to English (united kingdom),
why is this happening and what do I need to change or in properties on the userform textbox can I change anything to display in English date format.
    any help appreciated
