    Macro-based Dashboard

    Hello,

I am wondering if any Excel brains out there can help me with a simple dashboard/recording system I am looking to implement for our production team.

To give some background, we are a company that manufactures rubber mats, and we are looking for a dashboard to give the production team some incentive and allow them to track their production output.

I have attached an Excel spreadsheed that I am working on. Essentially, each day of the week, we keep a record of the times in which a new cycle begins. Each cycle represents the production of 8 mats.

What I want to do is have a “Start New Cycle” button programmed on the dashboard tab to run a macro. Ideally, when the button is pressed, it would record the current time into the next available cycle number for the day. That would then update the number of mats produced, and then it would reset the cycle time, and affect the countdown clock. Then, at the end of the week, the document should record the number of mats produced for the week on the Historic Data Tab.

I am looking for some help on how to run the macro, and have it so that the dates update automatically rather than manually keying in the date each week.

Can anyone please assist? I am more than happy to connect to provide further information if needed.

    Thanks,
    Yorke Graham

    Re: Macro-based Dashboard

Hi, maybe I'm dense but what you actually want is a button that you press every 20 minutes to show the next 20 minute cycle?
But if you close the file and open it the next day, it will have to fill in all the passed not filled cycles and add the x number of mats and update the dashboard?
There is no check if the actual mats have been produced just that the cycle of 20 minutes has passed and new one must be started?

Have you thought of having a dedicated PC or laptop and an open Excel session that does this automatically every 20 minutes and after the office closes saves the file and closes it?
Open it the next day and it goes on? Something like that?

How's you VBA knowledge an coding experience? This will require maintenance so you will have to get someone crazy enough like us guys to maintain and edit the system for you, makes you independent of forums or third-parties that you'll have to hire

At this moment it's 03:20 in Ontario, so you're probably still sleeping.
Hope to hear from you when you start your (work)day (it'll probably be around 16:00 here), we're 06:00 ahead of you
This is what I put together and except for some fine-tuning and the fact that this dos not (yet) consider holidays looks like all you have to is tart Excel and watch the screen while it does it's thing, if all goes well no human interaction necessary

Don't forget to enable macro's, the best is to save the file in a sub folder on your HDD and make that location trusted in the Excel Trust options.
No malware of virus in my code

Curious to hear what you think of this

The file now contains data up to 09:08 so it won't look okay until past that time on your side

    Re: Macro-based Dashboard

Hi, It seems I made a mistake so the whole thing hangs. Sorry for that.
Corrected my mistake and it should do the trick now.
Hope you at least let me know it works (or not)
