Signoff Button to Insert Date and Lock Cells

    Hello all,

I am looking to assign a macro (or even do it without a macro if possible) to a button which will insert the current date + time in a cell and lock one of the columns of my worksheet.

Please guide me towards doing this, I have limited beginner knowledge of VBA.

    Thank you

Hi, thank you so much for your reply!

This is pretty close but it locks the entire sheet when I press the button instead of just the column. I still want the other columns to be unlocked after I press the sign-out button.

Sorry sorry, your code is amazing! It work! Thank you so much! If you don't mind me asking where did you learn VBA? I would like to learn it as well, it's not very user friendly unlike Python so I never tried to learn it before

Re: Signoff Button to Insert Date and Lock Cells

Is there a way to have it such that the user gets a pop up box upon clicking the button which tells them to choose the password of their liking? And that's the password needed to unlock the workbook. That way others can't unlock it and only that specific person can unlock it
