    Conditional Formating

is there a way to conditionally format a cell? Not just run a 'if' or 'case' statement such as this one:

    HTML Code:
When my calculation sheets are created I use test data, so some of my numbers will not be as large, or small as they can be, and as the numbers in the calculations change I don't want to rerun my formatting or a macro. I want a true conditional formatting on each cell.

    for example:
M23 might be 953.01456 when I make my calculation sheet, but some instances it might be 10,546.8916.... but I only want to show 10,546.89 where I want to show all of 953.01456 (or 4 decimals of it)

    Re: Conditional Formating

It appears you are not aware of Conditional Formatting through the menu (instead of using VBA). Here is a link to get you started: https://www.excel-easy.com/data-****...ormatting.html

So, you would select your range, and then set up two rules (>1000, and <=1000) and you can choose the number format as part of the formatting.

Please upload a small clean sample of your data / workbook (not a picture) to the forum, Make sure you
have removed any private information, remember this is a public forum and so available to anyone.
We would like to see an example of your data and also a manual mock up of the expected results you want to achieve.

    Re: Conditional Formating

    got it figured out:

this adds the conditional formatting as i create each row of my sheet if it meets the criteria to call out this function.

    HTML Code:

Pauleyb : I am aware of formatting that way, but i'm creating a macro system that can be used to create calculation sheets, I want the user to just hit a "format" button and that's it... no additional work required to get formatting.
