    Need Fast Copy Macro

    Hello,

I am doing high volume of copying and pasting, hundreds of copys and pastes at a time.

Basically I am copying data from one screen to an excel spreadsheet on a neighboring and spending alot of time moving the mouse back and forth.

What I need is a macro so that I can stay on the screen I am copying data from and use a macro to paste it in the appropriate place. Each paste needs to be exactly one column to the right of the previous paste. This way I can just highlight data, hit the macro and then highlight the next set of data.

For example: Highlight data set 1 on original screen, paste into excel cell A1. Highlight data set 2, hit macro and it automatically pastes into cell B1. Highlight data set 3, hit macro and it automatically pastes into cell C1. This will continue for hundreds of data sets.

Potentially irrelevant but each data set will have 20+ rows of information. These however naturally go into place with manual pasting. The pasting needs to merge formatting as well.

    Thanks for the help,
    Tanner Worthington

You mention copying data from one 'screen' to a worksheet. Can you be more specific.
For instance do you have several workbooks open in memory and you want to select each in turn and then do the copy paste stuff?

If so please upload a couple of examples of the workbooks from which you copy.

    Re: Need Fast Copy Macro

To add to Richards question, do you want to always paste into A1 of the new sheet and have the full range of existing data on the new sheet to move by one column to the right? You could rt click and select 'insert cut cells' on Column A header and that will move all columns to the right. Is this what you are trying to achieve? We may be able to automate these individual copy/paste steps into one step for all your data if we could see your original source of data.

Either way will work. The order of the columns is irrelevant. I just would prefer to not have to click back over to excel. I am copying straight off a web browser and could save a lot of time if I didn't have to maneuver my mouse back to excel to the appropriate cell.. I am using a web based information tool which gives me data on people. I work in sales and part of my job is building lists of potential prospects.

I am copying data of a web browser on my main screen onto the excel spread sheet which is on the second screen. 1 website, 1 excel workbook, 2 monitors.
