Mouse rollover effect, won't let me direct cell target / activate worksheets "Cant open"

I am new to the forums
I'm a bit of an excel bodger only
But wondering if someone here might be able to solve something I've been trying to overcome for hours now.

On to my question:
I was playing with rollover hyperlink demo hack/trick from Chandoo
can't post the original link as im a new poster but you can google it with " Interactive Dashboard in Excel using Hyperlinks"

I started using it in one of my own excels but ran in to a problem. So I have recreated the issue in Chandoo's file and attached.

In the original, the file uses a trick inside excel to allow users to run a function by hovering over a cell with a hyperlink excel formula.
It does this by supplying function name as the URL and then replacing the text via using the "IFERROR" controls


What I need to do though is

• upon selecting this cell / clicking the cell do the following

1. select a different cell on the tab
2. activate another tab
3. select a cell on that tab

But I am getting the error "Cannot open the specified file"

I am trying methods of getting around this but nothing seems to work

I think the function is trying to link to a file via its nature which is causing the failure error but ONLY when trying to change cell target for some reason

Any creative way to bypass the error and force it to follow these instructions?

Hi Sabooru,

Sorry, but You can't use the hyperlinks from row 6 to go to a tab, the formula inside is only used to change the highlighting of cells

Do you know of any way to achieve this?
If you look at the module on the sheet I have alreadybtried the usual methods.
