You may be better off dimming the button as an object, then set it with GetElementById("button_search").
I'd test and be more complete, but since I don't have the url or login info, hopefully the above is enough.

I was thinking this *should* work:
Dim myButton As Object ... code until page is loaded etc Set myButton = ieDoc.GetElementById("button_search") myButton.Click
