Finish macro before logging out of windows

I have a spreadsheet the runs a couple macros and saves the file upon closing the file.

The problem I am running into is that occasionally one of the users hits close, then immediately logs off windows. When this happens, the file doesn't save and sometimes it somehow corrupts the file and I have to do a file restore. I have talked to them about it, but it still happens when someone is in a hurry. I would like to dummy proof this.

Is there any way of keeping windows from logging out UNTIL the file has fully closed?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

what do you mean they hit close? the close button in the upper right? you can heavily modify programs in the win OS, but it's a seriously complex effort. it probably isn't worth your time. maybe pop up a userform that is a dialog and hide the close button and force them to do things your way, that way? that's possible. they can't quit excel that way. i don't think anyway.

Thanks Adam. Yes, I mean the close button in the upper right. I like your idea about hiding the close button. I will look into that.

Edit: Just thought about that after I replied. That won't help anything. They could still log out of windows in that situation.

well there's nothing you can do about that. that's your IT dept's job. and they're probably not good enough to control THAT. plus, it would be way too complex to accommodate one problem user.

Understood. I ended up creating a giant userform message that would be impossible to ignore... "Please allow Excel to close before logging out of windows"
