Run Macro with advanced filter on protected sheet

Hello,

I'm having problems with running an advanced filter macro on a sheet which is protected with a password.

I found a solution, where I need to put Unprotect and Protect within the Macro. However, I don't know the password and due to company policy that I will not get the password to put it in the Macro. Is there anyway to get the macro to work?

Why would your company want you to edit or run a macro on a sheet that they won't give you the password for?

The sheet is protected by password so people cannot (accidently or on purpose) change formulas. Because of conflict of interest I cannot have the password, we use the macro to filter data from an output of a machine

Ok... I'm sorry to inform you though, that you won't be able to do it without the password, even with a macro. The only moral solution, and it might be a long shot, would be to have someone who knows the password, unprotect the sheet, then when protecting it again, set the options so that the users are allowed to change whatever your macro is trying to change, then it will probably work.
