Dropdown jumps to next blank cell in given column

    All,

First, I just want to say how thankful I am for this community. You all have helped me so many times and it's nice that people are willing to give their expertise to help strangers. As I learn all this, I hope to keep paying it forward one day!

What I'm trying to do now is have a drop down that, when an object is chosen from the list, the next blank cell in that chosen column highlights.

The main idea is: end user picks from drop down and can start typing the next number right away (instead of scrolling across and then down to find it).

    I've attached a sample workbook.

    Thanks in advance!

Undo the "Merge & Center". This is an accident waiting to happen.
Dropdown to be in Cell F2
Put this in the Sheet Module and save your workbook as .xlsm type (macro workbook)

Okay, when you say put this in the sheet module...

I click Developer tab, click "Visual Basic", then (here's the question): I double click "Sheet1 (Book1)" and paste the code in the window to the right? ... then save as a Macro enabled workbook, close it all, reopen it and try it?

Asking because after doing the above steps, when I click on the drop down and change to a part, nothing highlights and when I start typing, it just starts typing in the dropdown box (since that's what's highlighted).

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong... any help is greatly appreciated!

Did you undo the Merge & Center as mentioned?
