UDF to return firm value instead of formula result

Hello all,

let say i wish to do this:

Please Login or Register  to view this content.

so the result should be the value wont anymore be "=firmValue()" but instead should be "someValue"

how do i do this? Code above obviously doesnt work...

Excel doesn't permit udfs called from cell formulas (or defined names, or conditional formatting formulas, or data validation formulas, etc) to alter anything in Excel.

Only subroutines can alter anything in Excel, and they can't be called directly from formulas, but you could use event handlers to do what you want.
