Make a change on protected Sheet

    Hellow Good People.

I have a problem with a small piece of code. I have written it in the "thisworkbook" object to activate when the workbook opens as follows:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
this workbook is purely a presentation piece to allow members of the team to see and filter the data produced in other documents. There is no editable area in the worksheet but the users need to be able to filter and sort the information.

when the workbook is opened filtering works fine but when i try to sort the data i get the following error message:-

"the cell or chart you're trying to change is on a protected sheet. to make a change, unprotect the sheet. You might be required to enter a password"

i've tried looking everywhere and it would appear lots of people have asked the same question.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Mick

Leave this thread open. I have made changes and it is appropriate for others to respond now in this thread. The rule 6 applies when you are required to make the changes.
