How to convert vba to google script

Hello! I'm needing an excel document used for work to be able to be used on Google Sheets. I'm new to all of this so I didn't realize that Google Sheets does not support VBA. From what I understand, you can get around this by converting the code into google script? Any help doing so would be much appreciated!
