Drop down list - how to make the makro pick a certain value in the list

I have a dropdown list where I need to put the value back to "value 1" when another cell is changed.
I cannot find out how to get the makro to pick the "first value" in my list - when I record the makro it makes the change, but when I run the makro afterwards, it doesn't work.
