Problem with macro shortcut

I've written a VBA macro that opens some files. It works well when selecting it from list of macro names and clicking on "run". When I assign a letter (say "j") for its "ctrl-" keyboard shortcut, it brings up an unrelated format screen. I've made sure the letter is not previously assigned to some existing macro.

Any ideas what may be happening, or how to correct? Many thanks in advance.
