Identifying a user-specified PPT file from Excel

    Hi everyone.

I'm looking for a way to identify a specific powerpoint file and capture its path and filename. I will then copy/paste some charts and tables from Excel to that ppt file.

I can't seem to use GetOpenFilename to identify the file because the ppt options don't appear in the filter list (can't open a ppt file in Excel so - fair enough). But I don't want to open it in Excel, just to interact with it.

I thought I could have the user open the file or activate it if it was already open then click OK in a modeless user form and the file I need would be the active file ... but as soon as you click on the OK button Excel is the active file.

Is there ANY other way to have the user specify the ppt file that I can retrieve its path & name? I'd rather not use send keys with ALT+TAB to reactivate the file that the user activated but I don't know if there are any other options.

    Thanks in advance.

    MM.

You should be able to use GetOpenFilename:

Unbelievable. I must have had the wrong file filter coz it just didn't work for me!
