Can a cell formula count only the cell values that are in bold?

I have a table, let's say B5:D7. Let's say, each of the cells in the table has an alphanumeric value. I have a VB script that marks any of the cells that I double-click on by changing its fill color to green and the font weight of the cell changes to bold. What I want to add to my sheet is a total count of all the "marked" cells that will be displayed in D1. I had a VB script for that, but the problem that I had was that the count did not automatically update with each new marked cell. I had to "refresh" the sheet to see the updated count. Is there a way make it work with a cell formula, similar to "=COUNTIF(B5:D7,???)" or, maybe, count the cells that have a different fill color?

can't you add a recalculation or a call to that 2nd script as last command in your 1st script ?

What I want to add to my sheet is a total count of all the "marked" cells that will be displayed in D1.
