Msgbox to open a file and transfer data to another workbook

hi

I'm trying to put together a code here to ask for user to input filename, & then open the workbook.

The assign part works when i write it separately, but when i incorporate it here, the error msg is "Runtime error-438: Object doesn't support this property or method" pointing to the bold line,
anyone know what the reason is ? This code is run from the active workbook ws1.
