one I did some months ago for a similar request on this site.
the data is stored on a hidden sheet - double click in any date/time slot a data entry form appears, if there is data in the slot an edit form appears.
as the data is not in the actual facing sheet it acts as a perpetual appointments interface - use the calendar to move to future periods.
see if this approach is adaptable to your requirements.
