Red face Licence for macro in Excel

    Hello dear community,

Two of my colleagues in the firm developed a macro in excel and they would like to make the source code available for the community as they think it might be useful. We are not really programmers and do not know much on how this works. As VBA is owned by Microsoft we do not know whether we would be able to publish the code, lets say under an MIT (saw its popular)/ GPL licence.

I saw on github there are OS applications written in VBA but still I am not sure if we would be infringing the terms of Microsoft - I would consider there should not be any legal issues if me made available the code written - it would be the responsibility of the person running it to make sure they have a licence for Office and implicitly for VBA -but I am not sure from which other angle to look at this issue.
Any input here would be most welcome. I hope this is not a silly question as I could not find much on this.. Many thanks!

Hi Andrea and welcome to the forum,

One of the named forums on this site is "Tips and Tutorials" where you could attach your work. If you named the thread appropriately others could/would look at it and possibly learn a tip or trick or two.
That is my suggestion. Perhaps other members have other suggestions.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.
