Excel email fails to send immediately

I have a spreadsheet that auto saves and auto sends an email from Outlook upon closing the file.

The problem that I've run into is that the email fails to send immediately.
What it's doing is delaying the sending of the email until the next time the file is closed.

For example:
1) File closed at 4pm (nothing sent, but it's saved)
2) File closed at 8pm (4pm file gets emailed)
3) File closed at Midnight (8pm file gets emailed)

This is not very reliable, we need the information immediately, not hours later.

If anyone has any suggestions as to why this is happening, please let me know.

Can you post your code/workbook?

This might help ... do you have Outlook open and running in the background when you close the workbook ?

I ran this attachment and it sent the emails immediately.

What are you Outlook settings for send and receive?
Is send immediately checked?
