Do you have a scanner that can scan QR codes plugged into the computer?
How do you plan to link the device scanning to Excel?
If things don't change they stay the same
The qr code would be scanned by the phone, through a qr reader app?
How is the app connected to the computer running Excel? or are you referencing Excel on a mobile device?
If having a fleet of buses, one could scan the qr code inside the bus and enter the mileage at the time?
If it is a mobile device then i believe there are addins & apps that can be used, that is if you want the data to go to a desktop computer from the phone.

Might be worth writing a bit more detail on what the end goal is: What is scanning the data, what is recieving the data, mobile, desktop, mobile & desktop etc...
Thank you.
My idea was that I would generate individual QR codes for each bus, then I will have these displayed inside the bus, next to the driver, and when the driver is finished their shift, they would scan the qr code using their phone, which will bring them to this document or excel where they would be able to enter the mileage at the time, with the current date and time as well.
Is this something that can be achieved through VBA in Excel?

Apologies, I wasn't aware that cross-posting would create such issues. Fyi, one of the websites is not accessible from my work system, while the other is. This is why I have cross-posted it.
Anyway, here is the link for the other site.
