    Refresh Button Needed

    Hello Team,

I am a special education teacher. With the help of amazing people such as yourselves (Special Thanks to @ALIGW), @AliGW helped create a supplies order workbook.

    Please allow me to explain:
For years someone was in charge of ordering the supplies for our classes. She, for many many years printed out 30 sheets of paper with about 40 lines of supplies on each sheet and handed the bundle of sheets out to each class. Each class combed through over 1,000 of items, highlighted or wrote down manually the supplies they needed then handed them back to her. She manually wrote down any duplicates and added it all together to create a list to order. Going forward I will do doing this, fortunately I have friends like yourselves who have helped make my life a little easier. The attached workbook is the result.

The attached workbook contains all the classes (possibly adding and removing classes over the years) and PQ tables that organize the data for me. All the classes are locked and protected except for the QTY column in each class. I don't want any of the special education teachers to accidently edit or delete the data. They will add the quantity of what they need.

This workbook will be used once (in May) every year to place the order for the following school year.

What I am looking to do:
    01. I would like a:
    a. Refresh/Reset Button that will clear the QTY column in all classes in the ADMIN Functions tab.
    b. if possible, a button which prompts user for a name for a new class then creates sheet (keeping all formatting). All class data in copied from AR, so, if date is changed in the AR class it will change in all classes. For example, if a new line item is added to AR, it is copied over to all classes. Then PQ tables created Highest Cost and Highest Quantity tabs, keeping all the formatting that is already there.
    c. if possible, a delete button to delete a class and remove the PQ table entries.
    02. I would like all the PQ tables locked and the sheets protected. Unfortunately, PQ tables will not refresh if they are protected from editing and sorts all classes by pulling all line items in the QTY field and sorting them by the "DDSB PROD. CODE" feild. I would like a button in the ADMIN Functions that will unprotect the four sheets refresh the PQ tables then Protect them from being edited or modified. The Print for Ordering sheet has the QTY column unlocked because after all the teachers have created their order list, I need to be able to edit the QTY numbers, we don't need every teacher ordering five boxes containing twenty blue pens, which has happened.
    03. A Refresh/Reset Button in each class so if a teach makes a mistake they can easily clear their QTY column. A second button on each of the classes the pulls up all line items that has a value in the QTY field and sorted by the "DDSB PROD. CODE".
    Classes:
    01. AR
    02. PLP1
    03. PLP2
    04. PLP3
    05. SSP1
    06. SSP2
    07. DEV1

    PQ Tables:
    01. ADMIN Functions
    02. Snapshot of Orders
    03. Highest Cost by Class
    04. Highest Quantity by Class
    05. Print for Ordering

    Thank you in advance...

    Re: Refresh Button Needed

Can I just remind you that you should NOT be editing the Print for Ordering sheet AT ALL. As I explained twice in the previous thread, any manual changes to that table will be overwritten as soon as the query is refreshed. Changes should ONLY be made to the class worksheets themselves.

01 is pointless for the same reason. You should NOT be editing any of the PQ tables AT ALL.

You need to change your workflow - what you have outlined here will not work. I thought you had understood this.

Ali, once I've change and printed, that is the year. No more edits are required until the year after. After the print it doest matter if the Print for Order is refreshed, it won't be refreshed until the next year.

OK - on your head be it. But you’ve only got to accidentally refresh once to stuff it all up!

@Na-Dude, I am replying to your PM on the site as for some reason it has disappeared from my 'inbox' so no return address,
I have a busy 5 or 6 days in front of me, I will look then, but in the meantime someone else may step in and help as it is not related to my previous posts.
    Torachan,

Mission statement; Promote the use of Tables, Outlaw the use of 'merged cells' and 'RowSource'.

Thank you @torachan. I've added a couple of more requirements and update the workbook. Not sure if all this will be possible.
