Open Document to get the cell or chart you are trying to change is protected

    Hi,
Ive been creating Excel sheets for use at work. Forms for use in certain departments so only certain people can use them. Inside these forms are drop down boxes for the user to select their name as a way of signing their work. These workbooks have locked cells and have a hidden password protected sheet which is linked to another workbook which contains all the information someone might need to put onto the form. This master Workbook is also used to link other work books used in the same departments (This is done so i only need to update one workbook when a new employee starts etc)
Every time someone opens the Workbook to fill in the work details, they get a pop up message saying "the cell or chart you are trying to change is protected" before they can even do anything and a box "OK"
How do i stop this box showing up?

    Many Thanks

Sounds like you need to unlock the cells while the macro is operating, and then relock it when the macro finishes.

Thank you yes that was it thank you. Trouble is though now its unlocked theres nothing stopping someone finding the hidden sheet and changing it. Any idea how i can "lock it" but it still refreshes?
