Question Batch save .HTML to CSV

    Hi All

I am looking to batch save hundreds of files that have the file extension .htlm to CSV

In the same folder there are already CSV's so I would like the macro to ignore these and just run quickly through all the .html files

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Rob

    Welcome to the forum.

    I presume you mean .html?

Could you clarify - you are wanting to change the file extension of all .csv files in a folder to .html? You know that there are free Windows apps that will do this for you, don't you? Is there a reason it needs to be Excel?

No I have a few files that I save from a system that save as .html and want to change them to .csv, in the same folders there are already .CSV's so I want them ignored.

I wasn't aware of any windows apps that could do this, do you have any suggestions? Although I maybe limited to what I can download app wise with work blocking many apps.

    Thanks for the help

Amongst many others there is this:

    https://www.den4b.com/products/renamer

You can pout it on a USB drive and run it form there. Free version is for non-commercial use only.

There are many others if you Google it. This, for example:

Someone else will advise on the VBA code - I don't do that.

Re: Batch save .HTML to CSV

What are trying to do? An HTML file has a completely different format and purpose than a csv file.

What does your typical HTML file look like, and what do you want the resulting csv file to look like? Can you attach an example?

It is fairly easy in VBA to just rename the files but that will not give a useful result. You can open an HTML file in Excel then save it as csv, but also that does not seem useful to me. It will help to understand what your objective is.
