I want to conditionally format a cell based on the text colour of other cells

    Hi!!!

My problem is essentially what the title says.

To be more specific, I want a cell to be marked red if there are at least two cells with black coloured text in the cells next to it, and to remain unchanged if these conditions are not met, even if there are for example yellow marked cells with gray text.

I have tried looking it up, but can't seem to find a clear answer and scouring the forums for conditional formatting threads is going to take me quite a while.

I appreciate any and all help, thank you in advance :)

    Regards
    Drivegol

PS: This would probably be answered through answering the above question, but I'd like to find a formula that counts the amount of cells in a range with a specific text colour as well.

Edit: Current Excel version I have is 2408, seems to be the version released in January 2025.

    MS version -
    always latest
, i assume this is the subscription 365 version = otherwise you wont have all the latest functions
if not the latest update for 365 - please updatre what actual version you have - maybe worth updating anyway to a version

are there any rules that already change the colour of the font - so its NOT black
    or is that manual

i suspect you need VBA , which i do not provide here
but if conditional formatting already exists to change a font colour - then that rule could be used here

i think a sample sheet is needed here
    as i dont follow
even if there are for example yellow marked cells with gray text.
    Please see
    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-gen...xcel-file.html
the Yellow Banner at the top of the page linking to how to attach a sample spreadsheet

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

Here are the instructions, found at the LINK of the page again
"For the best help attach a sample workbook to your post"

I added an example to the original post, hope it clears up any confusion.

The file I'm working on uses almost the exact same format I provided as an example, but for privacy reasons I can't share the original file, however everything you see in there should make it clear what I'm trying to do (I think?).

My MS Office software is generally always updated to the latest version by our IT department, but I'm not sure where to check what version I'd be on atm.

i dont have a windows PC - i'm on OSX apple macbook
but on windows to get the office version
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...20the%20window.

cant see any conditional formatting so
as i mentioned - You will need VBA
are there any rules that already change the colour of the font - so its NOT black
    or is that manual

i suspect you need VBA , which i do not provide here
