DDE Brainbuster

Ok, the company I work for uses a program called ProComm to operate their 1980's style mainframe that was programmed in BASIC.

What I'm trying to do is control ProComm from an Excel macro using DDE to obtain certain bits of data that a user is looking for.

i.e. A salesperson wants to look to see what quantity of a certain part number we have on hand.

I have a textbox designated in a form for them to enter the part number. How can I use DDE to operate ProComm and obtain the information?

Hmmm....no responses. Let me back up a little bit. Where can I find out how to utilize DDE in a macro?
