What Are And Can I Delete .EMF Files in WINNT/Temp Directory ?

    Morming Folkes,
My Excel files are running quite slow and I have looked in the temp
directory to find thousands of emf files - Can anybody tell me what
they are and whether I can delete them. From reading other threads
they must have something to do with printing but printing of what?
They have all been generated very recently so I must have generated
them - I am using Excel, macros, commandbuttons - copying and pasting
worksheets. I am also using this forum alot and copying threads to
    word for printing.

    Thanks for any responses.

Jus to clarify - Slow when opening, saving and closing my files.
Some with lots of charts in and others with lots of commandbuttons and
    associated code.

    Hi Donna,

    this may help http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=EMF.

Looks OK to delete, I usually go with anything in the temp directory is safe to delete, causde it a "temporoay" store. If you are nervous move the files somewhere else for a day ot two and see what fails.

I also use software to keep temporary files under control. Pleanty available if you do a quick Google search or look in Download.com.

Anything in the temp directory is considered fair game. Delete all files
there that are not in use. they are not required.

For maximum payoff, delete then when all other applications are closed.
