Hi forum community!
I´ve looked this up on search, but haven´t really seen anything too close:
I have a series of Word documents, where the content has been painstakingly mapped to paragraph styles Heading 1 to 9.
What I´d really like to do is import these into Excel, whereby the style Names come out onto Column 1 OR row A . Naturally I´d like the Word Heading 1 content to align under the appropriate column row in flat database type fashion (formatting is actually irrelevant)
(I hope I´m explaining myself properly)
It´s an interesting problem because Word styles don´t actually figure explicitly as text. I´ve been trying to settle on a VBA flow for this, and am thinking that it´s best to call up the Word Doc from Excel, insert the Style Names as Row A in a spreadsheet and then go through all of the paragraphs in the Word Doc, and putting them in the appropriate column in the Excel.
Does it sound good? Anybody done a similar thing already?
Many thanks / R.
