Listbox navigation

I have a listbox, populated, but when I use a letter it does not allow me to
select the item that is high lited. (It is a stock list in alphabetical
order). is there a way I can do this?

by highlighted, I assume the listbox is highlighting appropriately reacting
to the letter typed. So what do you mean by it does not allow you to
select the item? How are you trying to select it?

It sounds to me that you want to use a combobox, not a listbox.
