    save as latest excel format

    I have a problem (don't we all)

I have access save a query as an XLS file then I have a macro run on the file and save everything.

The problem is that access exports as a early version of excel and I make changes and push save but excel does not convert to the latest format and I lose orientation of text when I reopen the file.

istead of workbooks.save is there something I can use that saves the workbook as the laset version of excel?

I hope this is somewhat clear.

Or if you know access can I export but have it be the latest version of excel?
