    hello,
    i am a newbie when it comes to to programing. i am attempting to have a macro run when the value of a cell is changed. i have a macro that does what i want it to, diplays an erro message and plays a sound, but just cannot seem to make it work based on the cell value. any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance

    One thing you haven't said is what causes the value of the cell to change.

    In any event, you could use the calculate event and use a static variable to
    store the last value of the cell

    hello tom,

    the result is achieved after a few "IF" formulas and a "SUM" formula, if the value of "FE11" changes from "0" to "1", i would like it to play a warning sound and display a warning message on the screen alerting the user of a conflict. as i said, i am new to this and not as experienced in programming but am trying to learn !
