    Formatting, Rounding Decimal places

Prior to using Excel 2010, I had no problem moving values set to 4 decimal places to cells that were either formatted for 4 places or formatted as text.
Now it seems no matter what I do if the new cell is formatted as text the numeric value is as imported (6 decimal places).

How do I make a 6 place numeric value to become an actual 4 place numeric value (With proper rounding)?
    Regards

    Hi Rick,
Have you tried, after importing those numerical values into cell(s) formatted as text, changing cell's format into General, or even directly into number format with 4 decimal places?
Do you, perhaps, get "error" - number formatted as text?

    No error's.
I will try using "General" and see what happens.

    TY

    Edit:
Using "General" format had no change.

I see you have experience in Excel, atleast judging by "Prior to using Excel 2010" so your question must be something interesting to solve...
Can you upload worksheet with imported values/numbers?

Make sure the cells are not formatted as Text. Then select the column, Data > Text to columns, Finish.

    Then format as you wish.
