    Help with conditional formatting

I would be extremely grateful for some help with this problem. Thanking you in advance.

I have a table with conditional formatting applied. This table uses data from elsewhere within the same sheet to colour code my cells.

How can I copy and paste this table to another workbook? Each time I try I lose the colours as they are dependent on the data in the other sheet. This data is continuosly updated so I want to make a record of this without having to manually colour each cell.

I have tried paste special (with both values and formats) but this doesn't show the colours.

when you say lose the colours do the colours change colour? if this is the case your colour palette is different to the your main workbook. to solve that do the following

open yoru main workbook then the new workbook you have pasted the values (you should be in the new workbook at the moment)
click Tools>Options then click on the color tab you should see a section called Copy colors from and a drop down list click on your main workbooks name. click ok and the colors should display in the same colour as your main workbook

No, the colours don't change, The cells just appear colourless. It is not due to the colour pallette but because I copy and paste the table to another workbook without the data, the conditional formatting rules don't then apply because they don't have the data cells to base their function on.

The spreadsheet is for predicting soccer scores. For each person - they have a column for their predicted home score value and another for their away score value. The next column calculates the points they receive depending on the actual match score. This repeats for different people.

In another part of the spreadsheer, I have a summary table with conditional formatting applied. This table actually puts the data in visibly friendly format.
ie it puts the score predicted in the format eg 2-1. The conditional formatting then colours that cell in different colours depending on the points they recieved for that game. The points value is referenced from the data initially entered.

    Hope you understand so far.

As the initial data changes from week to week, I like to keep a record of the summary tables from previous weeks. However when I copy to a new workbook, I only want to copy the summary table without the original data but without the original data, the condionally formatted cells won't apply the colour changes. I have tried paste special with the formats option together with values option but still the colours don't change.

I would therefore like to copy the summary table as it is with all the colours.

    Hope you can help
