Run time error '53'

Hello All,

I am trying to interface with a spectrometer and store data into excel.

SOMETIMES I get this error,

Run time error '53':

File not found: scanSW.DLL

Why can't it find this all the time? I put the .dll in system and system32 and the folder where the excel sheet is!

Hello Jimbo_Jones,

You have the DLL in the correct folders. You can remove the one copy that's in the folder with the Excel worksheet. What versions of LIMs, and Excel are you using? What make and model is the spectrometer? I am not expert in this area, but do know people who work with these systems. I doubt I can get an answer for you today, but I will try.

Hey, I have excel 2003 SP2

What I have found is I have to have the program on the local drive. I can't run it from the server, which is strange? Also I have to open excel then open the file, I can't just double click the file name, stange also?

Thanks for the help so far. At least I have the right idea with the .dll!!
