Question Having excel send e-mails automatically

Is it possible to get excel to automatically send an e-mail to a person in my outlook address book when date information in a cell changes? In other words, I have a spreadsheet set up so that when a date in a cell is older than 6 months the text changes colour to red. I'd also like it to send an e-mail to someone to action some work. Any ideas?

    Question

Thanks for moving this to the correct forum and thanks for the link. Unfortunately I can't make "moss nor sand" of it all.
What I'm after doing is monitoring columns D & E and if the date in D is 6 months (3 months for column E) out of date it e-mails the address in G1 with the name in column A.
I've already had help with this spreadsheet from this forum with some conditional formatting which is why some of the dates are in red. It works fine, but if it would e-mail me also then that would be the cherry on the top. Would I need the spreadsheet running all the time?
Can any kind soul help me out here?
