move that Row From the Waiting section to the completed section automaticly

I have very limited knowledge/experience with Excel. I have been asked to incorporate Excel into a Access application i have developed.

As part of the Access application the spread sheets are being updated from forms.

My question is, i have spread sheets with three different sections on one sheet. A Completed section, a production, and a "Waiting" section.

Is it possible that if a change is made to the status of an object.

For example if something is changed from Waiting to completed, can i program Excel to move that Row From the Waiting section to the completed section automaticly for my users?

    Hi

You could probably use an event macro to make the move in excel. Need more detail on your structure to give you some code.

However, where is the change to the status taking place? If it is in the database, shouldn't you be using the access process for generating the spreadsheet data to update this data? Or are you going to use the changes from the spreadsheet to backfill / update Access?

I'll try and give you a better understanding with out confusing you too much

To keep this as simple as possible, one of the objectives of Access is to update these spreadsheets. There is a database which there are 10's of thousands of records or "tasks" that need completed, are completed or are currently being worked on.

I have pulled into my Access application all of the "tasks" that pertain to my division. Every "task" has a status Completed, In Development, Ready for Development. etc... My application allows the users to look at the work relivant to them so they can assign it and they keep track of this via the spread sheets

The spread sheet is broken down into 4 different sheets, one for each manager and further more broken down into the work that has been assigned to their group.

Who ever step up the spread sheet divided each sheet into three sections, Completed, In Developement, and Ready for Development on section.

What i need to do is since the tables are linked in Access any changes i make to the spreadsheets is instant. My problem is if i change a tasks status from lets say In Developement to Completed. The task remains in its original place in the "In Development" section.

My users are having to manually go into Excel and cut and paste the changed records to the appropriate sections.

I would like to keep them from doing this and have Excel do it for them, by looking at the status cell and moving it to the correct section on the spreadsheet.

    Hi

OK. How about a sample file that shows your structure for the relevant data you want to transfer.

Also, how is the data linked to Access? My concern is that by moving the data in Excel, it may somehow "messup" the linkages to Access.

    Hi

Create a small spreadsheet, with dummy representative data and code, zip the file then go to the manage attachments section (further down the screen when creating messages) and attach the zipped file. If it is vital, then perhaps add an access DB as well (also zipped).
