    Schedule Regular Workbook Updates

    Good Afternoon,

I have a series of 12 workbooks linked to a "inputs workbook." The inputs workbook updated from data in a MS Access Databse and calculates information needed to update the other 12 workbooks.

I have created a macro in the database to automatically exports the data needed to update the "inputs workbook" (it exports the table information in the form of excel worksheets, then I open the "inputs workbook" and it updates the linked information).

In order for me to update the 12 other workbooks, I have to open each on individually and click "update" - is there a way to "schedule" each workbook to update automatically without having to open each one individually?

Let me know if you need additional details....

As Always, thanks for the help!

Why not have an auto_open macro on each and then use the Windows scheduler to open them at a time of your choosing.

You could get the macro to save and close down the workbook when finished.

You would need to hold down the shift key if wanting to open the workbooks without the auto_open macro running.
