Name Search in Excel User Sheet / Boolean?

    Dear all,

I want to make a searchable database, which needs to be extremely userfriendly. On the first sheet, I have created a user definition box, where criteria for the search in the database are entered. One of the criteria would be the name of a company or person. I need a macro which finds the entered name in the database to copy it to the output sheet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, regards,

    Worksheet Attached

    Hi Roy,

Pls find attached a sample of the workbook. As you will see, the input asks for a name to be found in the database. Consequently, the name should be presented in the output sheet with selected information (function not needed, as it has been built already). The original workbook has over 2000 entries, and therefore it is undoable to look by hand. Besides, as the ultimate user will not know how the name has been exactly entered, a Boiolean may come in handy ;-) Thanks in advance for any comments and ideas!

    Hi Roy,

I would need the code to search the sheet 'database'. If a query is presented in, say, 'Input!F6' (Parent), the database needs to be searched for matches in Database!B6:B16. For a query in Input!F7, the database needs to be searched in Database!X6:X16.
As a result may turn up more than once, all results should be exported to Output!B5:Bx.
As the user may not know how a name is spelled exactly, I was thinking of Boolean. Again, any help is really greatly appreciated, as I am thoroughly stuck... ;-)

    Thanks,

    Peter1999
