    Locking and Unlocking Excel workbooks

Ok this is my first time posting here but the forum seems very well managed so I thought I would give it a shot.

Here is what I need to do.

I have workbooks that are being accessed by a lot of different people at a bunch of different times. At the end of the day I run a macro that refreshes them all to get info updated to a workbook they are all linked to. If people are in it the updating doesn't work. Is there a macro I can make that locks everyone out of specific workbooks? More then just read only..I mean they cant stay in it at all.

    Any ideas?

    Hello KarmaPolice,

You can protect and unprotect your Workbook easily through code. Here is an Example. Change the password to what ever you want.
