    Sequential numbers in different workbooks

    Hi

I hope some can help me

I would like to know how to have Sequential numbers in the same cell, but in different workbooks.

    Example:
    file name is blank.xls
cell j8 in worksheet 1 in workbook 1 will show 85
but when it is saved under a different name it keeps the number 85.

but when blank.xls is reopened the it will change cell j8 to 86 and so on.

I hope someone has some idea of what i can do.

    Regards
    Vic

You can store the number in the registry or a Text File. Possibly create your workbook with the necessary code to update the number on opening, then save that workbook as template (*.xlt)

    Hope that helps.
