    Creating a matching list?

    Hi Everyone,
How could a create a auto filling matching list? For instance I have two lists that equal each other. For example I have Hold Code Name and Hold Code, every Hold Code has a distinctive name.
I want my Users to be able to select Hold Code Name and have the Hold Code field automatically populate with the correct matching Hold Code. Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Erik

Can you not use the simple Vlookup function? That would require you to build the table of Hold Codes and matching Names, which you can place and hide anywhere you want, but it is the simplest thing that comes to my mind.

    Hi Connor,
I forget to mention my data in lookup value field is in a list format. Simply put the user selects the data from a list created by data vaildation. Will Vlookup wotk with a list? I have tried it and it doen't seem to work.

Should be able to use VLOOKUP with a validation list... see attached jpeg for an example.
