Addin path not updating

First let me say I think it's rather short-sighted of Microsoft to not include the Remove method in the Addins collection. That being said, I'm assuming the following behavior is normal and there is no workaround?

MsgBox "Before: " & .FullName ' Show current path
.Installed = False ' Uninstall the addin (but still in the collection)
AddIns.Add fileName:=ThisWorkbook.FullName, CopyFile:=False
.Installed = True
MsgBox "After: " & .FullName ' Shows old path instead of new path
End With

.

Apparently, the Add method doesn't update an existing addin if it already exists in the collection. (The Names collection gets updated by the Add method so I was hoping AddIns would too.)

Since VB can't remove the addin nor change its path once it's been added to the collection, how would I accomplish this?
