Question about running workbook off usb stick

Hi all, First off excel2003 program is on the laptop.

Question about running workbooks off a USB stick.

I have 12 workbooks (1 for each month) and a workbook menu so that when a user clicks on the month it loads the appropriate month which also needs to save to the usb stick

The boss does not want the workbooks on the laptop but only on an encrptyed usb stick.

Are there any pitfalls I should look out for with this approach????

How would I stop the users saving the workbook back to the hard drive of the laptop if they wanted to??

    Thanks for any info

You can prevent honest people from inadvertently saving to other than the USB drive by intercepting the Save event; there is nothing you can do to keep someone from willfully capturing the data, one way or the other. Passwords and dictator applications notwithstanding, Excel was never designed to be a secure environment.

The best solution is to suggest that your boss hire trustworthy people.
