    Assign letters to #'s

I was thinking a macro would work best, but i have a bunch of test averages that i need to assign to letters, but, there are different grading scales for gradute and undergrad student, i was thinking of a macro saying IF colum 2 (U = undergrad G=grad and all are in colum 2) =U then use this scale, if colum 2 = G then use this scale, and then i have to assign it say Scale 1 = 90-100 A 80- 89 B, if anyone knows an easier way or wouldnt mind helping me it would be much appreciated

    Hi jpc,

You can use a formula for this, like so:

This assumes your "U" or "G" are in column B, and your student's grade is in column A. Change the A1 reference to the actual cell with the grade in your sheet (and of course, change your lookup ranges as necessary).
