    Delete words with certain format

    Hi,

I'm trying to write a macro that will help construct a now/then spreadsheet. I've got complete now/then information in column B; the "then" information is formated to be red and struckthrough and the "now" information is green and underlined. I am trying to create a "Then" column C and a "Now" column D. I want to keep all of the normal text, plus the red struckthrough text and put it in column C and keep all of the normal text plus the green underlined text and put it in column D. I've got it to where it will copy all of the information, but I can't figure out how to keep the "then" information out of the "now" column and the "now" information out of the "then" column. Any help? Here is what I have so far:

And that much works. I've been playing around with a For loop, but I can't figure out how to get it to delete only part of the text and not the entire cell contents. Here is that piece:

Does that make sense? Thanks for your help...

Thanks for your help. The sample that you gave me is close to what I'm trying to do, but no quite. I'll keep playing with it to see if I can figure it out. I can't attach any files because I can't zip anything on this computer, but here is what I'm wanting it to do. I've got complete information in column B and I want to create from it column C that gives me complete "then" information, retaining the formatting, and a column D with complete "now" information, retaining the formatting. I hope this makes sense...

    Then/Now column B
The big little black white dog ran fast.

    Then column C
The big black dog ran fast.

    Now column D
The little white dog ran fast.

I'm trying to create a Then/Now spreadsheet and I've got complete information in column B that has both "then" (red, strikethrough) and "now" (green, underline) information. I want to create from it column C that gives me complete "then" information, retaining the formatting, and a column D with complete "now" information, retaining the formatting. I hope this makes sense...

    "Now" column D
The little white dog ran fast.
