If I go to a different computer they run fine.

    Have installed no updates.

    Hello carstowal,

Error 9 "Subscript out of range" would indicate the Workbook you are referencing in your code isn't open. Do you open the workbooks manually or through code?

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    sometimes manually, sometimes through code.

workbook OORP was opened manually then when a button in it is clicked a second WB opens in which this code runs.
The second WB uploads data to the OORP, so I check to make sure it's not in read only mode first.

these two lines of code are in the workbook(s) they are executing on

In addition, the macros run just fine on another computer.
and they do not all come from the same workbook, or interacting workbooks

    Hello carstowal,

I would suggest cleaning up your computer. Run "Disk Cleanup", Defrag, etc., and restart your machine. Whenever I run into anomalous behavior like this, taking these actions generally solves the problem.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
