entering todays date in a selected cell

I want to add todays date in any selected cell- when hitting a command button- I have seen that some use a cut and paste from a hidden cell- is there a better way?

entering todays date in a selected cell

If you're only looking for a shortcut for entering the current date in a cell...
    try this:

CTRL+; ....that means: Hold down the CTRL key and press semicolon)

    Does that help?
